About us

Benai Farms SP Ltd is a family business originated from Benai, a village in the province of Ba in Fiji. The name Benai stands for a logical, analytical approach and great patience.

Benai Farms started operating in New Zealand in July 2020 and has gained popularity as suppliers of pure Fiji kava (Saqani Waka). We have since increased our product range to include kava products, tanoa, jewellery, handicrafts, furniture and home décor items. We also pride ourselves in having gained a reputation for great products and excellent customer service. We plan to increase the range even further to include other products from Fiji and the Pacific Islands.

The idea of the business came from our grandparents (Late Mr. Shiu Sampat & Mrs. Shiri Mati). It was then transformed by our parents (Late Mr. Pratap Chand & Mrs. Ram Devi) and uncle & aunty (Mr. Praveen Chand, Mrs Roshni Devi, Mr. Pradeep Chand & Mrs. Sunila Devi). We of the third generation (brothers Ramneet Chand, Rajneet Chand and their siblings) are now taking it global starting with New Zealand, with the guidance and blessings from the Chand family. Shayal Shivanjani Singh, Ramneet’s partner, works closely with Ramneet expanding the business.

Benai Farms PTE Ltd (Fiji) comes from a farming and manufacturing background. This includes cattle farming, sugar cane farming, vegetable farming, preserving spices and manufacturing furniture products. The company also sources products from all over Fiji for retail and distribution. Benai farms PTE (Fiji) Ltd is the supplier for Benai Farms SP Ltd (New Zealand).  Our products are mainly Fijian Made and are imported and distributed from Fiji to New Zealand and other Pacific Island countries.
